Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Design Manager - MEP in Saudi Arabia to lead the MEP design scope across complex buildings, infrastructure, and industrial projects. You will manage multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure designs meet project requirements, budgets, and schedules while adhering to standards and sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering as required.
• 10–15 years in MEP design with design management experience.
• Experience delivering large hospitality or leisure projects preferred.
• Proficiency in BIM and MEP design software.
• Knowledge of international and local codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design packages from concept through detailed design stages.
• Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary MEP engineering teams, consultants, and external stakeholders.
• Ensure all MEP designs comply with local regulations, international standards, client specifications, and sustainability requirements.
• Review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, civil, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Establish design schedules, resource plans, and project priorities to achieve milestones.
• Conduct design reviews, value engineering workshops, and risk assessments to optimize project performance.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineers, designers, and project teams.
• Monitor design quality and ensure adherence to quality management procedures and best practices.
• Support tendering, procurement, and contractor evaluation activities through technical reviews and clarifications.
• Manage client relationships and serve as the primary technical contact for MEP design matters.
• Resolve technical issues during design, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
• Drive sustainability, energy efficiency, and innovation initiatives within MEP systems design.
• Prepare project progress reports and communicate design status, risks, and recommendations to senior management.
