Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical MEP Engineer with 10+ years in mechanical building services. You will lead the design, technical reviews, and multidisciplinary coordination across building and infrastructure projects.

This role requires strong design expertise, hands-on site surveys, and the ability to support projects from concept through construction and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of mechanical MEP engineering experience.
• Proven experience in mechanical design consultancy projects.
• Strong experience conducting site surveys and field assessments.
• Experience in commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, infrastructure, or airport projects is preferred.
• Middle East or GCC project experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems for various projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and detailed design drawings.
• Review and validate engineering deliverables, including design drawings, BIM models, and shop drawings.
• Conduct site surveys, field investigations, and condition assessments to collect design data and verify existing site conditions.
• Analyze survey findings and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Coordinate closely with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, and BIM teams to ensure integrated design delivery.
• Participate in design review meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Support construction activities by providing technical clarifications and resolving design-related issues.
• Assist commissioning teams in system testing, performance verification, and project handover activities.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant international standards, local regulations, project specifications, and quality requirements.
• Contribute to value engineering initiatives and continuous design improvement efforts.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, technical review, multidisciplinary coordination, and site assessment of mechanical systems across building and infrastructure projects.

This position requires strong design expertise, practical site survey experience, and the ability to support projects from concept design through construction and commissioning phases.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of Mechanical MEP engineering experience.
• Proven experience in mechanical design consultancy projects.
• Strong experience conducting site surveys and field assessments.
• Experience in commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, infrastructure, or airport projects is preferred.
• Middle East or GCC project experience is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks.
• Familiarity with HAP, Carrier, or equivalent HVAC calculation software.
• Knowledge of BIM coordination processes and design workflows.
• Good understanding of ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, Saudi Building Code (SBC), and other relevant engineering standards.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
