Job summary

SGS is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer with 12+ years of experience, including 4–5 years in hyperscale data centers. You will execute commissioning across the full lifecycle, including FAT/SAT/IST, and coordinate with EPCs, vendors, and client teams in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

You will review plans, test procedures, and ensure compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, IEEE standards and local regulations while promoting HSE practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
• 12 years of experience in commissioning, testing, or construction of MEP systems.
• 4+ years of experience on data center or mission-critical projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute commissioning activities across the full commissioning lifecycle, including pre‑commissioning, functional testing, performance testing, IST, and final handover.
• Carry out commissioning of mechanical systems including chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps, AHUs, HVAC systems, and related control systems.
• Review and implement approved commissioning plans, test procedures, and scripts, ensuring testing is conducted safely and accurately.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, vendors, OEM reps, consultants, and client teams during commissioning and testing activities.
• Witness FAT, SAT, and system testing as required.
• Execute and support IST to validate system performance, redundancy, and operational scenarios.
• Identify commissioning issues, record observations, prepare punch lists, and ensure timely closure.
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, IEEE, Uptime Institute standards, project specs, and local KSA regulations.
• Strictly follow and promote HSE requirements during all commissioning activities.
• Prepare and maintain accurate commissioning documentation, test records, reports, and system sign-off sheets.
• Support preparation of O&M manuals, as-built docs, training, and system handover to operations teams.
• Assist the Commissioning Manager in client inspections, audits, and final acceptance activities.
