Job Purpose
The role is responsible for the delivery of field operations and maintenance activities across Dry MV utility infrastructure, including power generation plants, within the RSU infrastructure realm. It ensures seamless support for all field‑based users of Dry Utilities services and manages the maintenance and reliability strategy, field operational objectives, and field maintenance operations within stipulated budget and timelines.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of the annual business plan for RSU Field Operations & Maintenance, providing necessary inputs around maintenance and upkeep of Dry utilities within RSU.
- Contribute to strategic plans and initiatives focusing on optimization of field operations and maintenance across Dry utilities.
- Support formulation of functional strategies and roadmaps required to manage seamless delivery of field operations & maintenance services, aligned to RSU goals.
- Support incorporation of new technologies around Dry utilities to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure production strategies and processes specific to Dry utilities meet RSU’s objectives in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets.
- Maintain and operate all Dry utility assets (design, delivery, and commissioning of generation, transmission and distribution power systems and networks) to maximum efficiency and reliability.
- Respond promptly to operational faults or maintenance repairs within Dry utilities, providing resolution within agreed timelines.
Field Operations & Maintenance
- Ensure smooth daily operational activities concerning field operations and maintenance across Dry utility facilities (medium voltage infrastructure).
- Develop and execute operational strategies to improve the performance of field operations across Dry utilities (medium voltage) and ensure reliability and quality of services.
- Monitor on‑ground MV facilities and equipment conditions, identifying opportunities for preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal availability and reliability.
- Allocate field workforce to sites for normal or disturbed state operations, respond to emergencies, and restore power supply.
- Implement corrective actions during emergencies, operational disruptions, equipment breakdowns, or quality concerns under leadership guidance.
- Manage escalations of risks and coordinate responses to minimize operational impact.
- Proactively manage compliance across processes, guidelines, and operational efficiency measures.
- Support technology adoption to enhance efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide inputs to leadership regarding improvement of operational procedures, substantiating with on‑ground data and logs.
- Supervise on‑ground system maintenance activities, including checks, repairs, and component replacements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, laws, regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Partner with teams to promote safety, sustainability, quality, production, and reliability.
- Oversee interaction with the PPP Company regarding O&M terms of reviewing procedures and maintenance schedules.
- Issue and close work permits for planned outages, updating maintenance records.
- Manage unplanned MV power distribution network outages, including work permits, post‑rectification communication, and EAM record updates.
- Control and operate local MV power distribution network parameters, coordinate with Marafiq on high‑severity planned outages, and organize field operations for all severity‑related incidents.
- Monitor MV network parameters, oversee network analysis, and prepare load reports.
- Coordinate dispatch of staff to sites for fault identification following outage notifications.
Risk Management
- Identify aspects of risk in Dry MV utility field operations and develop mitigation measures to minimize delays and costs.
- Report regularly on key business risks related to field operations and maintenance.
Leadership and People Management
- Coordinate activities of suppliers or vendors for Dry utility field operations & maintenance, ensuring efficient execution aligned with project management plans, policies, and procedures.
- Serve as a role model to promote employee awareness and commitment to RSG vision, mission, values, and corporate strategy.
- Relay the team’s resource needs to senior management.
Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports
- Follow functional policies, processes, SOPs, and instructions to ensure controlled and consistent work.
- Prepare accurate and timely MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements.
- Analyze operational and maintenance processes to eliminate redundancy and merge workstreams, improving operational performance.
Safety, Quality & Environment
- Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, high‑quality service delivery, and responsible environmental attitude.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of departmental systems, processes and practices, including cost reduction and productivity improvement.
- Assess operational processes and develop improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure operations follow best practices and standards; adopt technology to improve efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years in a similar role, preferably in large sustainable infrastructure utilities projects.
- Experience in KSA/GCC countries preferred.
- Strong technical and operational understanding of Dry Utility systems (Medium & Low Voltage).
