Job summary
PwC Middle East is seeking a Senior AI Solutions Architect to join the Chief Technology & AI Office. You will shape the technical vision for Generative AI platforms, design scalable architectures, and guide cross-functional teams from strategy to implementation.
You will own non-functional requirements, drive governance, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with clients to deliver high-impact AI solutions across complex domains.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Azure certifications (Solutions Architect or Developer) preferred.
- Microsoft development certifications preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of Generative AI projects with a delivery teams and provide technical guidance on Gen AI tools, frameworks, and platforms.
- Define target-state architectures and reusable patterns for Gen AI solutions (RAG, agent orchestration, prompts, evaluation).
- Design applications, translate business requirements into robust technical designs, and ensure non-functional requirements (scalability, performance, security).
- Support Enterprise Architecture governance and assist Enterprise Architects in evaluating technology solutions.
- Lead design reviews, mentor engineers and junior architects, and drive engineering quality.

The Chief Technology & AI Office organization invests in new business models that leverage our knowledge to build Generative AI solutions for the growing digital market. Each new solution focuses on data-driven platforms or other intellectual-property-based solutions that draw on emerging technologies and new business models.
Our Solution Architecture team shapes the technical vision behind these solutions — turning innovative ideas into scalable, production-ready platforms. Through the process of building new solutions, we foster a culture of innovation, extend the relevance of our brand in the market, and generate new revenue.
As a Senior AI Solutions Architect, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to strategise, design, and implement Generative AI technology solutions that help our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy through execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Solution the development of Generative AI projects executed by development teams, and provide technical guidance on Gen AI tools, frameworks, and platforms.
- Define target-state architectures and reusable reference patterns for Gen AI solutions — including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic and multi-agent orchestration, and prompt and evaluation pipelines.
- Design applications and services within the organisation, and collect and clarify business requirements to translate complex problems into robust technical designs.
- Own non-functional requirements such as scalability, performance, latency, observability, security, and cost optimization across AI solutions.
- Establish Responsible AI, privacy, and governance guardrails, and ensure solutions are secure, compliant, and aligned to enterprise standards.
- Actively support the implementation and execution of the processes for the definition, maintenance, and compliance management of the Enterprise Architecture, and assist the Enterprise Architects in assessing technology solutions.
- Lead technical design reviews and execute periodic code reviews to uphold engineering quality.
- Shape and deliver digital products that meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and our own quality criteria.
- Be actively involved in planned and unplanned business development activities to help identify and research opportunities with new and existing clients.
- Supervise and support vendor developers in the context of projects.
- Mentor and coach engineers and junior architects, acting as a subject matter expert in solution design and development.
- Continuously improve our internal development and design techniques and keep our documentation up to date.
- Continue to develop internal relationships, grow your PwC brand, and grow your personal skills in alignment with the company and team strategy.
- Undertake such other duties as may be assigned to you by your manager.
- Extensive, hands-on experience delivering large-scale software solution implementations.
- 10+ years working in agile teams and with product delivery.
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in solutioning Generative AI initiatives.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Azure certifications (Solutions Architect or Developer) preferred.
- Microsoft development certifications preferred.
- Knowledge of Generative AI technologies is a must. Familiarity with one or more of each type of technology listed below is required:
- Large language models: GPT-4, ChatGPT, Gemini, Llama, and similar.
- Agent orchestration frameworks: Semantic Kernel and LangChain.
- Vector databases: Azure AI Search, Qdrant.
- Patterns and platforms: Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Azure OpenAI Service, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, and Microsoft Copilots.
- Familiarity with Azure Machine Learning and several of the Azure AI Services, with strong experience across Azure Services more broadly.
- Cloud-ready architectures that utilize infrastructure and platform cloud services for Azure.
- Service-oriented, event-driven, and microservices architectures.
- Persistence using RDBMS/NoSQL data stores (MS SQL, MongoDB) and an understanding of their appropriate use cases.
- Containerisation, with experience using Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- DevOps practices such as CI/CD, virtualization, automation, and continuous integration.
- Software development platforms and defect-tracking systems such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, and JIRA.
- Working knowledge of high-level UX principles such as user stories, persona building, and prototype development approaches.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Able to understand the big picture while also delving into the details.
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Team oriented, with a high level of innovation and creativity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication when working with product teams and end customers to understand and analyse feedback.
- Client-focused: understands client needs, ensures projects are on time and delivered above expectation, and sets cadence with the practice and the client.
- Passion for ongoing personal development, keeping abreast of emerging technology and trends.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required; Arabic is highly desirable.
