Job summary

Siemens Energy in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to help manage contracts and legal risks across the Middle East. You will review large-scale project, product, service, and procurement agreements, supporting the energy transmission and grid digitalization efforts within the Grid Technologies Business Area.

You will collaborate with global teams, lead negotiations, engage external counsel when needed, and contribute to standardization and training for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in general commercial and contract law for international business.
• Track record managing legal risks in complex transactions.
• Strong English language skills; Arabic would be an asset.

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Senior Legal Counsel/Legal Counsel at Siemens Energy, you’ll start your day collaborating with colleagues across the Middle East and internationally – reviewing contracts, advising on large-scale contracts in project delivery, product areas, service agreements, procurement, as well as in the field of energy transmission and grid digitalization within the energy sector, both in the bidding and execution phases and resolving complex legal issues that help drive the Middle East’s energy transition.

Your work will span contract negotiations, risk management, consulting or a manufacturing location and supporting innovation within the Grid Technologies Business Area. You’ll be a trusted advisor to business leaders, ensuring legal integrity while enabling progress toward a sustainable energy future.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Be the trusted advisor and manage legal matters/risks in relation to general commercial, trade
• and contract law in national and international business for Siemens Energy's Grid Technology
• Business in Middle East
• Analyze and comment on tenders, contracts and contract related documents and give
• proactive advice and participate in contract negotiations and in formulation/implementation of
• negotiation strategy.
• Check compliance with other internal guidelines and / or processes as well as external regulations.
• Support execution and claim management. You engage and manage external law firms in dispute resolution proceedings.
• Contribute to standardization and digitalization of contracts and improvement processes and collaborate closely within the global LC community.
• Develop and provide training and educate key stakeholders.

What You Bring

• You have gained several years of professional experience in the legal department of an
• internationally operating company or a reputable law firm, preferably in relation to international
• projects.
• Relevant professional experience with a proven track record of successfully managing legal
• risks in complex transactions and providing pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice.
• Deep knowledge of contract law and international contract practice, with knowledge of
• common law principles considered an advantage and the ability to independently lead
• strategic contracts and negotiations.
• You are customer orientated and have a passion to enable business transactions pragmatically and to inspire change.
• You are able to handle multiple demands at the same time and prioritize competing matters independently.
• Experience in managing complex disputes, claims and litigations, including developing legal
• strategies, coordinating with external counsel and advising the business on risk and resolution options.
• You enjoy working in a team and in an international environment and are comfortable working effectively with remote and cross-functional teams across different countries and time zones.
• Excellent language skills in verbal and written English. Arabic language (and other language skills) would be considered an asset.
