Job summary

KAUST in Saudi Arabia seeks a Senior Lab Equipment Maintenance Engineer for LC–MS (Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry) to lead maintenance and repair activities in the Analytical Technologies Unit. The role includes mentoring junior staff, planning user maintenance, and delivering high-uptime service while controlling costs.

The Senior LEM Specialist will operate under LEM Director guidelines, collaborate with vendors, and contribute to SOPs and safety compliance on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
• Factory service training in the class of equipment covered.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency with using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) such as SAP.
• Training in quality systems such as ISO 9001:2015, Six Sigma and Lean principles.

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly to maintenance and troubleshooting requests.
• Complete assigned work at the highest possible level of quality and in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with end-user to schedule equipment maintenance and other services.
• Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers and vendors.
• Leverage relationships with manufacturers to facilitate support and training.
• Identify spare parts and assist with stock levels and ordering.
