Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect in Saudi Arabia to design functional and environmentally sustainable outdoor spaces along highways and urban roads. The role blends environmental planning, aesthetics, and engineering coordination to deliver safe, attractive public spaces.

Responsibilities include site analysis, developing planting schemes, drainage design, and construction documentation, while supervising on-site works and ensuring budgets and timelines are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in landscape architecture.
• 15+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong knowledge of urban design, horticulture, soil science, hydrology, and sustainability practices.
• Experience in infrastructure or road-related projects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong project management and budgeting abilities.
• Ability to prepare cost estimates and manage budgets effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site analysis including terrain, soil, climate, and environmental impact.
• Design landscaping plans for highways, medians, sidewalks, and adjoining green spaces.
• Develop drainage, erosion control, and planting schemes aligned with infrastructure needs.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, urban planning, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, and contractors to integrate landscape elements.
• Prepare detailed drawings, 3D models, and construction documentation.
• Supervise on-site landscaping activities such as planting, paving, and installation of street furniture.
• Monitor project budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
• Select native and drought-resistant plant species to reduce maintenance costs.
• Incorporate noise barriers, green buffers, and pedestrian-friendly zones.
• Enhance visual appeal of roads through greenery, lighting, and material selection.
