Job summary

Aljomaih Energy and Water Company (AEW) is seeking a senior professional to lead Internal Audit & Risk Management. The role plans and executes risk-based audits, supports the ERM framework, and advises management on risk mitigation.

You will interact with senior management, external auditors and regulators. The ideal candidate has CIA/CISA/CPA-type certifications, 8–10 years of relevant experience, and exposure to SPVs, EPC and project finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• Eight to ten years of professional experience in internal audit, risk management or external audit.
• Experience with a Big Four firm or similar is preferred.
• Exposure to IPP/IWP structures, SPVs, JV, EPC and O&M contracts is strongly preferred.
• Track record of reporting to or presenting at an Audit Committee or equivalent governance forum.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute the annual risk-based internal audit plan and manage audits within assigned areas.
• Conduct audits across functions, processes and controls, evaluating effectiveness and identifying improvements.
• Assess compliance with laws, regulations and policies; prepare audit reports with findings and remediation plans.
• Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Assist in reviewing and improving company-wide policies and procedures.
• Audit project development lifecycle from origination to handover; assess EPC, O&M, PPA/WPA contracts and governance at SPVs/JVs.
• Verify progress payments, variation orders, claims and budgets.
• Maintain and monitor the ERM framework, risk registers and communication with stakeholders.
• Support ad hoc advisory engagements with timely and quality deliverables.
