Job summary

Al Jomaih Energy and Water (AEW) is seeking an Accountant to manage financial transactions, close cycles, and ensure IFRS compliance for energy projects in Saudi Arabia. You will maintain ledgers, support budgeting, and provide financial reporting accuracy across ongoing initiatives.

The role requires 2–5 years of accounting experience in utilities or infrastructure, knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle Fusion), strong Excel skills, and collaboration within a team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and local accounting standards.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion preferred).
• Strong MS Excel and MS Office skills.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Record and review financial transactions in IFRS/local standards.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare schedules for reporting.
• Track and report financial performance of projects, including budgeting.
• Assist in preparation of management and statutory reports.
• Ensure proper application of accounting policies and controls.
• Support variance analysis of actual vs. budget for revenues, costs, and cash flows.
• Provide financial data for forecasting and budgeting.
• Monitor bank transactions and reconciliations.
• Assist in cashflow reporting.
• Ensure correct VAT, Zakat, and tax requirements.
• Prepare documentation for regulatory filings and audits.
• Support internal controls implementation and maintenance.
• Post and maintain transactions in ERP systems.
• Contribute to improvements in financial reporting systems.
• Support finance team with ad-hoc financial analysis and reports.

Overview

To manage financial transactions, reporting, and compliance for energy projects and operations, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with industry and regulatory standards.

Your Job Functions (Duties & Responsibilities)

• Record and review financial transactions in compliance with IFRS/local accounting standards.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare supporting schedules for reporting.
• Track and report on the financial performance of ongoing projects, including budgeting and cost management.
• Assist in the preparation of management and statutory financial reports.
• Ensure proper application of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Support variance analysis of actual vs. budget for revenues, costs, and cash flows.
• Provide financial data and insights to assist in forecasting and budgeting exercises.
• Monitor bank transactions and prepare accurate bank reconciliations.
• Assist in weekly and monthly cashflow reporting.
• Ensure correct accounting of VAT, Zakat, and other applicable tax requirements.
• Prepare documentation to support compliance with regulatory filings.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls.
• Post and maintain transactions in ERP systems.
• Contribute to improvements in financial reporting systems and tools.
• Support the finance team with financial analysis and report generation on an as-needed basis

Qualifications & Skill Sets

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in utilities, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
• Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and local accounting standards.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion preferred).
• Strong MS Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team.
