Job summary

City of St. Louis currently seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator II to operate a wide variety of heavy equipment for maintenance on city streets, parks and utilities in St. Louis, MO.

Salary range listed in posting: $49,790 - $74,672, and position is full-time (permanent). Responsibilities include driving, inspections, fueling, street cleaning, snow removal, and concrete/emulsion delivery. CDL is required or substituted by relevant training/experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience operating heavy and specialized automotive equipment.
• Successful completion of a Commercial Driver’s License training program may substitute for one year of the required experience.
• Incumbents must possess and maintain a valid Missouri Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) while employed.

Responsibilities

• Drives heavy, specialized vehicles and related equipment.
• Conducts pre-trip and post trip inspections.
• Washes and fuels vehicles.
• Sweeps and flushes streets.
• Delivers concrete and emulsion.
