Job summary

Saudi Aramco is seeking a Compliance Counsel to join the Transactions, Sustainability & Reporting Compliance Department within Global Corporate Compliance. You will provide international trade legal advice, oversee export controls, sanctions, and related regimes for the company’s global operations.

The role requires a law degree, 10 years’ experience in international trade, and ability to guide internal stakeholders and manage external counsel, while ensuring adherence to worldwide regulatory

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Law degree required; Master/JD preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of international trade experience.
  • Experience advising on sanctions, licensing, and trade controls.

Responsibilities

  • Provide international trade legal advice for the jurisdiction and business needs.
  • Develop procedures for export controls, sanctions, CFIUS/FDI, antiboycott and customs, WTO obligations.
  • Support internal stakeholders in developing robust export control programs.
  • Identify international trade risks and design risk controls.
  • Develop and deliver international trade training to employees and management.
  • Conduct regulatory due diligence for new opportunities, acquisitions, financings.
  • Counsel and participate in compliance-related technology development projects.
  • Manage outside counsel and integrated project teams.
  • Oversee Aramco’s compliance program obligations and interactions with government agencies.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and update policies accordingly.
  • Support Aramco’s global operations with expert compliance counseling.
