Job summary

Norconsult Telematics in Damascus, Syria, seeks an experienced Fibre Network Planner to own end-to-end plans for a long-distance project, covering backbone, metro, access, and inter-site connectivity. You will coordinate with civil works, field survey, and vendor teams to validate routes, distances, and feasibility, ensuring DWDM/IP/MPLS support and documentation standards.

Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory; a Bachelor's in Telecommunications or related field and 8+ years of fibre

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of fibre network planning experience (OSP/ISP design).
• Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory.
• Experience with telecom GIS, fibre inventory platforms, and network design tools.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end fibre network planning for long-distance project.
• Develop fibre network plans for backbone, metro, and access with route diversity.
• Analyse fibre inventory, GIS data, duct/route data, and splice diagrams to identify gaps.
