Job summary

Parsons in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to join the site-based Construction Supervision team on a landmark project. You will lead environmental compliance, develop EMPs, and coordinate with clients, regulators, and contractors to ensure sustainable delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years on large infrastructure projects; ISO 14001 experience and strong reporting skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 10+ years of environmental experience on large-scale infrastructure, construction, or development projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee environmental compliance activities across project sites.
• Ensure compliance with project environmental requirements, permits, and applicable local regulations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Environmental Management Plans (EMPs).
• Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and site assessments to identify risks and ensure compliance.
• Review contractor environmental plans, method statements, and environmental reports.
• Monitor environmental performance and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Assess and mitigate environmental impacts related to construction activities.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities on environmental matters.
• Prepare environmental reports, compliance documentation, and performance metrics.
• Monitor waste management, pollution prevention, resource conservation, and sustainability initiatives.
• Support biodiversity, ecology, and environmental protection requirements where applicable.
• Investigate environmental incidents and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
• Provide environmental awareness training and guidance to project teams.
• Support environmental permitting and approval processes.
• Promote sustainability and continuous environmental improvement across project activities.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior environmental staff.
• Participate in testing, commissioning, handover, and project closeout activities from an environmental perspective.
