Job summary

Parsons Corporation seeks an Environmental Engineer – Compliance for the Tabuk region to support environmental management on major infrastructure projects.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, a strong understanding of Saudi regulations, and proficiency in environmental monitoring and reporting. The incumbent will coordinate with contractors, clients, and regulators to ensure compliance and sustainable site practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in environmental engineering or sustainability.
  • Experience with mega infrastructure or large-scale construction projects preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental impact assessments and control measures.
  • Proficiency in waste management, water conservation, and air/noise/wastewater monitoring.
  • Knowledge of Saudi environmental laws and NCEC requirements.
  • Professional credential such as LEED or IEMA is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal English; Arabic is a plus.

  • Review and monitor Environmental Management Plans for projects.
  • Conduct site inspections and environmental audits to verify compliance.
  • Assess activities against Saudi regulations and NCEC standards.
  • Oversee environmental monitoring programs (air, noise, wastewater).
  • Review contractor submissions and environmental procedures.
  • Identify environmental risks and non-conformances.
  • Collaborate with teams to define corrective actions and mitigation measures.
  • Support waste management, water conservation, and pollution prevention.
  • Prepare environmental performance reports and regulatory documentation.
  • Coordinate with leadership, contractors, clients, and regulators.
  • Track permits, inspection outcomes, and close-out actions.
  • Promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices.

Position Overview

Environmental Engineer – Compliance, Location: Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Industry: Environmental Services. Function: Environmental Health & Safety Services. Experience required: Minimum 7 years. Full‑time position offering the opportunity to support sustainable delivery on major infrastructure and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, implement, and monitor project‑specific Environmental Management Plans and Construction Environmental Management Plans.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and environmental audits to verify compliance with approved requirements.
  • Assess project activities against Saudi environmental regulations, National Center for Environmental Compliance (NCEC) standards, and relevant international frameworks.
  • Oversee environmental monitoring programs covering air quality, noise, soil conditions, wastewater discharge, and pollution control measures.
  • Review contractor submittals, method statements, sustainability reports, and environmental procedures before and during construction activities.
  • Identify environmental risks, site non‑conformances, and potential impacts on surrounding ecosystems.
  • Work with construction teams to define corrective actions, mitigation measures, and practical solutions for environmental concerns.
  • Support waste management, water conservation, pollution prevention, and sustainable site operation programs.
  • Prepare environmental performance reports, compliance records, incident logs, audit findings, and regulatory documentation.
  • Coordinate with project leadership, contractors, consultants, clients, and regulatory authorities on environmental matters.
  • Track environmental commitments, permit conditions, inspection outcomes, and close‑out actions.
  • Promote environmental awareness, responsible construction practices, and sustainability‑focused decision‑making across the project team.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering with an environmental focus, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in environmental engineering, environmental compliance, or sustainability support.
  • Background in mega‑infrastructure, large‑scale construction, land development, or complex project environments is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of environmental impact assessments, environmental management plans, and construction environmental controls.
  • Practical knowledge of waste management, water conservation, pollution control, air quality monitoring, noise monitoring, and wastewater management.
  • Familiarity with Saudi Arabian environmental laws and NCEC requirements.
  • Professional certification such as LEED, IEMA, or an equivalent environmental credential is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to review contractor technical submissions, method statements, compliance documents, and sustainability reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are a strong advantage.
  • Analytical, detail‑oriented, proactive, and committed to environmental best practices in a fast‑paced project setting.

Salary
