Job summary

Amadeus is seeking a Senior Data Engineering Expert to lead enterprise-scale data platform design, governance, and modernization for airline operations. You will own data ingestion, real-time and batch processing, and data integration across commercial, digital, and operational domains.

The role requires deep expertise in Azure, Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and MDM, with a track record of delivering scalable, secure, and observable data ecosystems that enable analytics and ML-driven

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data platforms in complex environments, preferably in airline/travel domains.
• Extensive expertise in cloud-based data architectures using Microsoft Azure and Databricks Lakehouse.
• Hands-on experience with Spark, Scala, Delta Lake, and modern orchestration for batch and real-time workloads.
• Experience building scalable ETL/ELT frameworks and large-scale data processing platforms.
• Knowledge of data integration patterns including APIs, event-driven architectures, and hybrid models.
• Strong governance, data quality, lineage, metadata management, and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise-wide data architecture strategies supporting commercial, digital, customer, and operational functions.
• Design scalable, secure data platforms enabling analytics, reporting, ML, and decision-making.
• Lead modernization toward cloud-native lakehouse architectures and enterprise data ecosystems.
• Establish data engineering standards, governance, and best practices across the organization.
• Architect and develop scalable data ingestion, transformation, and serving layers for batch and real-time processing.
• Implement data quality controls, lineage tracking, and observability capabilities.
• Drive automation of deployment, orchestration, monitoring, and operational support processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across airline operations, commercial, and IT teams.
