Job summary

ABIS is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead the accounting team, oversee operations, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role demands strong leadership, analytical ability, and deep expertise in IFRS and financial management.

You will manage month-end close, prepare statements, coordinate with external auditors, optimize policies, mentor staff, and provide insights to senior management for strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/ACCA/CMA highly preferred
• Minimum of 7 years progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting regulations
• Experience with accounting software and ERP - Microsoft Dynamics 365 systems
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
• Strong attention to detail and high level of integrity
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets per IFRS and company policies
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and ensure accuracy
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support senior management decisions
• Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
• Mentor and train accounting staff to build a high-performing team
