Hungerstation in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing team. You will work on a high‑scale platform used by millions, migrating to microservices and strengthening backend architecture on Google Cloud.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience in GoLang, RoR, Java or Python.
• Strong SQL/NoSQL database expertise with PostgreSQL, caching (Redis/Memcached).
• Proficiency with monitoring/logging tools such as Grafana.
• Deep understanding of software architecture: DDD, microservices, Kubernetes, containerization.
• Experience with monolithic migrations and a testing mindset.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architectural decisions for a platform used by millions.
• Migrate the monolithic app to microservices.
• Design and secure backend architecture to support growth.
• Work with Docker containers, Kubernetes manifests on Google Cloud Platform.
• Mentor teammates as a senior member of the Backend Chapter.
• Practice Design Driven Development, SOLID principles, and automated tests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional, agile teams and improve test coverage.
