Job summary

Ma’aden in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Senior Specialist, Rod Mill to ensure safe, reliable operation of rod mills and achieve target grind size and throughput.

You will monitor and troubleshoot processes, mentor operators, and drive continuous improvement with maintenance and process teams.

The role requires a Mineral Processing or Metallurgy background, 5 years in grinding circuits, and experience with DCS/SCADA systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5 years of experience in grinding circuits (Rod Mill / Ball Mill) in beneficiation or mineral processing.

Responsibilities

• Rod Mill Operation & Control: monitor mill load, power draw, feed rate, water addition, discharge size.
• Process Optimization: analyze trends to improve throughput and milling efficiency.
• Equipment Inspection & Reliability Support: routine field checks on mills, lubrication, pumps, cyclones.
• Performance Monitoring & Reporting: prepare daily/weekly/monthly operational reports and KPIs.
• Safety, Environment & Compliance: ensure HSE compliance, PTW, risk assessments, and SOC updates.
• Technical Support & Expert Guidance: provide grinding principles guidance and coordinate with related teams.
• Team Collaboration & Training: mentor operators and junior specialists.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement: lead small-scale trials and energy-saving initiatives.
• Stakeholder Engagement: coordinate with maintenance, process, and production teams.
