Job summary

HP on-site in Saudi Arabia seeks a Rigging Specialist to assist rig moves by preparing lifting plans, calculating lift arrangements, and ensuring safe operations. The role requires 3–5 years of experience in oil & gas rigging and a valid Saudi Aramco Rigger Level 1 certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher.
• Saudi Aramco-approved Rigger Level 1 with at least 6 months validity.
• 3–5 years of oil & gas rigging experience; SMS and PTW knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Approve lift arrangements and capacity calculations.
• Verify sling size based on load weight.
• Attach loads using Center of Gravity (COG) and proper hitching; include tandem lifts.
• Inspect rigging equipment for defects before use.
• Set up lifting plans to protect rigging and loads.
• Execute multi-legged lifts with D/d ratio as required.
• Perform choker hitch lifts to optimize sling usage.
• Calculate sling angle stresses.
• Provide correct hand signals and radio communications for load control.
• Use crane load charts and metric/imperial conversion charts.
• Calculate areas and volumes of identified loads.
• Be a team player and a leader.
• Demonstrate HP values: CARE, Service Attitude, Innovative Spirit, Teamwork.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Assisting rig moves by preparing lifting plans for rigging and as described but not limited to the Duties and Responsibilities listed below.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Approve and ensure the proper identification and calculation of lift arrangements and capacities.
• Approve and ensure proper calculation of required sling size based on properly identified load weight.
• Attach loads utilizing proper Center of Gravity (COG), select proper hitch to hold and control the load, to include tandem lifts, man-basket, and all other designated critical lift operations.
• Ensure and approve detailed inspection of all rigging equipment prior to use to ensure no defect with all equipment used within guidelines.
• Set up and perform the designed lifting plan to ensure both rigging and loads are protected during the lift
• Creation and execution of multi-legged lifts while allowing for D/d ratio on the wire rope as per approved requirement.
• Creation and execution of choker hitch lifts while allowing for reduction on the slings
• Calculate Sling Angle Stress
• Perform correct hand signaling and deliver proper radio communication to ensure proper load control
• Use bridle and crane load charts in the creation of lifting plans
• Utilize conversion charts to ensure proper conversion from Metric to Imperial measurements
• Calculating areas and volumes of identified loads

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, all in English, write simple correspondence,

EDUCATION and Certification:

• High school as a minimum or higher.
• Possess a valid Saudi Aramco-approved Rigger Level 1 certification with 6 months minimum validity

WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Have a minimum of 3 to 5 years (or more, depending on the specific project) of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial rigging operations. Working knowledge of Saudi Aramco's Safety Management System (SMS) and Permit to Work (PTW) processes is an added advantage
