Job summary

AstraZeneca plc in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, seeks a Rare Disease Medical Science Liaison to lead scientific engagement with KEEs and HCPs. You will deliver balanced, evidence-based data and help shape clinical practice across its rare disease portfolio.

You will build relationships, train local experts, and support compliant medical communications while advancing strategic medical initiatives in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medicine, Pharmacy, Pharmacology.
• Experience in rare disease or oncology is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent.
• Ability to synthesize scientific information and communicate with healthcare professionals.
• Excellent learning capacity for scientific concepts and knowledge.
• Direct patient care experience or equivalent in pharma.
• Strong presentation skills for medical data/concepts.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Excellent project management ability.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain engagement with scientific leaders (KEEs).
• Provide understanding of local medical community and practice trends.
• Share emerging data with HCPs in a scientific, balanced way.
• Identify and develop relationships with KEEs in Saudi Arabia.
• Engage in scientific activities with medical community including trials and studies.
• Identify potential speakers and train them for local events.
• Contribute to advisory boards and round-table discussions.
• Present scientific data to HCPs in group and one-on-one settings.
• Facilitate continuing medical education events for HCPs.
• Develop scientific programs to address unmet needs in priority diseases.
• Provide actionable insights to internal stakeholders.
• Plan regional medical activities during product launches.
• Serve as medical resource for sales reps and answer medical questions.
• Participate in trainings and updates for internal customers.
• Provide medical information and respond to unsolicited information requests.
• Share competitor knowledge affecting company strategies.
