Job summary

Atkins Realis Group is seeking a qualified Rail Transport Planner with extensive experience to join our Transport Planning and Strategic Advisory unit in the Middle East. The role involves contributing to master plan assessments, traffic impact studies, and multidisciplinary planning projects across public and private sectors.

You will need a strong background in transport planning theory, traffic engineering, and travel demand, with hands-on experience in public transport networks and junction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in traffic engineering, transport planning or traffic modelling.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in traffic engineering and transport planning with Operations and Maintenance railway project exposure.
• Knowledge of International public Transport Planning standards and procedures.
• Has worked within a team.
• Experience in the Middle East is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to transport planning studies including master plan assessments and traffic impact studies.
• Undertake junction analysis to support traffic impact assessments.
• Prepare existing conditions analyses, trip generation, junction analysis and parking assessments.
• Communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
• Possess ability to work with limited supervision and manage project finances.

We are seeking a qualified Rail Transport Planner with minimum 10 years experience to join our Transport Planning and Strategic Advisory Business Unit in the Middle East

The candidate must be a degree-qualified professional with a minimum of 5 years of traffic engineering transport planning and traffic modelling experience

Your role

Your roleThis role requires contributing to a variety of transport planning studies including large scale transport master plan assessments traffic impact studies or multi-disciplinary planning projects in the public and private sectors Understanding of transport planning traffic engineering and travel demand theory Experience in public transport networks and familiarity with international transport planning standards and practices Practical understanding of the role and importance of transport planning in development access and citywide mobility plans Experience in undertaking junction analysis to support the traffic impact assessments Contribute to preparation of reports including existing conditions analyses trip generation junction analysis and parking assessments Must be able to communicate in English effectively both written and spoken Must be able to learn and retain new skills quickly from a variety of sources Must be able to work with limited supervision Some experience project financial management
