Job summary

Confidential Careers in Saudi Arabia is seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor Engineer to manage project costs across the lifecycle, ensuring commercial accuracy, cost control, and contractual compliance.

You will work with project teams, consultants, contractors, and procurement to support the delivery of construction projects, prepare BOQs, perform take-offs, review payments, and monitor budgets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or Commercial Engineering within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of BOQs, FIDIC contracts, measurement principles, and cost control practices.
  • Experience reviewing contractor payments, variations, claims, and final accounts.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and maintain Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for construction projects.
  • Perform quantity take-offs based on drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
  • Review and certify contractors' payment applications against approved drawings, BOQs, contracts, and actual work progress.
  • Monitor project costs and expenditures against approved budgets and cost plans.
  • Prepare cost reports, budget tracking reports, payment summaries, and commercial performance updates.
  • Review and evaluate variation orders, claims, additional works, and their commercial impact.
  • Assist in tendering activities, including quantity take-offs, cost estimation, bid evaluation, and commercial analysis.
  • Review contract documents, scopes of work, BOQ items, and commercial terms.
  • Conduct site visits to verify completed quantities and project progress.
  • Coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors, procurement teams, and site engineers to resolve commercial matters.
  • Maintain accurate records of payments, variations, claims, and final account documentation.
  • Identify cost risks, recommend mitigation actions, and support commercial decision-making.
  • Assist in project close-out activities, including final accounts and commercial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations, and industry standards.
