Job summary

Abis Co in Al Jubail is seeking a QC Inspector – Structural to perform rigorous inspection and testing of structural steel fabrication and erection activities. You will verify against drawings, specifications and codes, witness bolting and welding, and manage inspection records on site.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of QC inspection experience on structural projects, with a civil/structural engineering background and relevant certification.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related.
• QC/inspection certification is preferred or required.
• 5–8 years of QC inspection experience on structural steel projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections on structural steel fabrication and erection works.
• Witness bolting, welding, and alignment checks per ITP.
• Verify installation against drawings, erection plans and tolerances.
• Record inspection results and raise non-conformances as required.
• Coordinate hold points with client/ third-party inspectors.
• Maintain inspection records, checklists and daily QC reports.
• Verify calibration status of measuring equipment.
• Support punch-list generation and closure verification.

Job description

SECTION I: Job Summary

The QC Inspector – Structural performs inspection and testing of structural steel fabrication and erection activities to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.

SECTION II: Job Analysis

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections on structural steel fabrication and erection works.
• Witness structural bolting, welding, and alignment checks per the ITP.
• Verify structural steel installation against approved drawings, erection plans, and tolerances.
• Verify materials (structural steel, bolts, coatings) against material certificates and specifications.
• Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports as required.
• Coordinate hold points and inspections with client/third-party inspectors.
• Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
• Verify calibration status of measuring and test equipment used on site.
• Support punch-list generation and verification of closure for structural works.
• Ensure work fronts comply with approved method statements and structural codes (AISC, etc.).
• Support preparation of quality documentation for structural handover dossiers.
