Job summary

Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. is seeking a QC Inspector - Structural to perform inspections and testing of structural steel fabrication and erection activities, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications and codes.

The role requires careful documentation, ITP-witnessing, and calibration checks on site. Applicants should have 5–8 years of experience in structural steel projects and a Diploma or Bachelor's in Civil/Structural Engineering, with QC/inspection certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Civil/Structural Engineering is required or preferred.
• QC/inspection certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong inspection/documentation skills and familiarity with codes are expected.

Responsibilities

Job description

SECTION I: Job Summary

The QC Inspector - Structural performs inspection and testing of structural steel fabrication and erection activities to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.

SECTION II: Job Analysis

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections on structural steel fabrication and erection works
• Witness structural bolting, welding, and alignment checks per the ITP
• Verify structural steel installation against approved drawings, erection plans, and tolerances
• Verify materials (structural steel, bolts, coatings) against material certificates and specifications
• Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports as required
• Coordinate hold points and inspections with client/third-party inspectors
• Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports
• Verify calibration status of measuring and test equipment used on site
• Support punch-list generation and verification of closure for structural works
• Ensure work fronts comply with approved method statements and structural codes (AISC, etc.)
• Support preparation of quality documentation for structural handover dossiers
