Job summary

Samsung E&A in Fadhili, Saudi Arabia, seeks a QC Inspector to manage piping inspections within project teams. You will generate RFIs, review ITP/MAR, and coordinate with clients to ensure conformance to international codes and project requirements.

Ideal candidates have 5 years of overall experience, 3 years in inspection specialty, and familiarity with ASME/API AWS standards. Aramco background is highly valued; CBT pass is a plus.

Qualifications

• Inspector shall be a High School graduate, or higher; shall be conversant with applicable Industry Standards.
• Overall experience: 5 years; Inspection Specialty: 3 years; Contract Scope of Work: 2 years.
• Knowledge of codes such as ASME B31.3/31.4/31.8, API 570, AWS D1.1 is required.
• Experience reviewing pressure test packages and PandID is necessary.
• Aramco experience is needed; CBT Pass preferred for QC inspector.

Responsibilities

• Manage and perform inspection of piping discipline.
• Generate RFIs with notices for hold, witness, and inspection points.
• Prepare/review ITP, MAR and related quality documents from subcontractors.
• Review/approve inspection reports; control NCRs and corrective actions.
• Coordinate inspections with client and conduct pre-commissioning activities.
• Inspect incoming materials, verify specs, and conduct tests with onsite team.
• Ensure lessons learned are applied and prevention is implemented.

Job Description

General Characteristics (Job Summary)

• Perform quality activities in accordance with quality management system established.
• Establish inspection and test plans and its record forms as per project requirements and international codes and standards.
• Carry out inspections on discipline responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements, and recording its result.
• Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Managing and performing inspection of Piping discipline
• Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) where required providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
• Prepare / Review the following Quality procedure documents submitted by the Subcontractors such are Inspection Test Plan (ITP), Material Approval Request (MAR).
• Prepare / Review / Approve the related inspection reports where inspection results are recorded.
• Controlling inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
• Setting and applying practical inspection process of particular discipline based on Project requirements and International Codes (providing ITP and managing Matrix).
• Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and supporting to prepare Corrective Action Plan properly.
• Performing and coordinating inspection with client.
• Carry out QC Supervisor’s responsibility in their absence.
• Control quality violations through regular tool box talk with the construction team.
• Review and track material submittals required for Piping Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings.
• Conduct Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to Piping Definable Features of Work.
• Inspect incoming material deliveries by confirming specifications and compliance with approved submittals, conduct visual and measurement tests in conjunction with the onsite logistics team.
• Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
• Ensure to apply lessons learnt and proper preventive action conducted.
• Review pre-fabricated spool release, welding history and perform inspections.
• Review and Approval of Test Packages, line walk, punch preparation and Hydro test inspection.
• Monitor RT backlog as per project requirements.

Work location is Fadhili, Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications

Key Requirement

• Aramco experience is needed.
• Additionally, with CBT Pass is preferred for QC inspector.

Education and Experience

• Inspector shall be a High School graduate, or higher; shall be fully conversant with applicable Industry Standards and Specifications; and shall perform a variety of inspection functions with minimal supervision.
• Overall experience: 5 years.
• Experience in Inspection Specialty : 3 years.
• Experience in Contract Scope of Work : 2 years.
• Inspector shall have a demonstrated background and thorough knowledge of codes such as ASME B 31.3, 31.4 and 31.8, ASME, API 570, AWS D1.1, required for the execution of the WORK.
• Inspector is required to review or ensure of the pressure test Package and shall be familiar with the PandID.

Knowledge

• Technical knowledge and familiar with related international codes and standards in particular discipline.
• Able to check that suitable and appropriate inspection and test tools are used.
• Investigate and analyze nonconformities and observations and figuring out solutions.
• Capability of planning and controlling inspections for medium scale project (0.5~1.5 billion dollar).
• Manage to anticipate inter-related discipline outcome to minimize reworks.
• Ability to use measuring and testing equipment.
