Parsons is looking for an exceptionally talentedProject Sustainability Managerto join oursite-based construction supervision teamon a major public realm development in Diriyah, which includes a series of iconic and neighborhood parks, open spaces, and over 55 kilometers of streetscape. The objective of this program is to create a vibrant, inclusive environment that enhances livability, accessibility, and community well-being.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Report to theProject Director/Construction Directorand act as theproject lead for environmental management and sustainabilityon site.
- Develop, implement, and oversee theProject Environmental Management PlanandSustainability Planin line with Parsons standards, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Review and approve the contractor’sEnvironmental & Sustainability Plans, CEMP, Waste Management Plan, Pollution Prevention Plan, and related procedures, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance withlocal environmental regulations, permit conditions, and sustainability targets(e.g., resource efficiency, waste reduction, carbon considerations).
- Conduct regularenvironmental and sustainability inspections and auditson site, identifying non‑conformances and ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Oversee management ofwaste, noise, dust, air quality, water usage, soil protection, ecology, and hazardous materialsin accordance with project standards.
- Coordinateenvironmental monitoringactivities (e.g., noise, dust, water quality) and review monitoring reports, ensuring appropriate actions are taken as needed.
- Collaborate with HSE, construction, and design teams tointegrate sustainability principlesinto construction methods, materials selection, waste handling, and site logistics.
- Support implementation ofsustainability rating system requirements(e.g., LEED, Envision, or equivalent), including documentation, evidence gathering, and liaison with independent assessors, as applicable.
- Providetechnical guidanceto Parsons and contractor teams on environmental best practices and sustainable construction solutions.
- Lead or participate inenvironmental incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and reporting, and track implementation of corrective actions.
- Prepare and delivertraining and toolbox talkson environmental and sustainability topics to project staff and contractor personnel.
- Coordinate withclient representatives, regulatory authorities, and third-party auditorson all environmental and sustainability matters, including inspections and reporting.
- Manage projectenvironmental and sustainability reporting, including weekly/monthly reports, KPI dashboards, and summary presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure thatenvironmental risks and opportunitiesare identified early, assessed, and incorporated into project risk registers and mitigation plans.
- Supporthandover and close-outactivities by verifying environmental commitments are fulfilled, documentation is complete, and sustainability targets/credits are properly evidenced.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability from a recognized university.
- Inenvironmental management and/or sustainabilityon large-scale construction or infrastructure projects, preferably in a site-based role.
- Strong knowledge ofenvironmental regulations, standards, and permitting requirementsapplicable to construction projects in KSA or the GCC.
- Demonstrated experience implementingEnvironmental Management Systemsandsustainable construction practiceson major projects.
- Experience withgreen building/sustainability rating systems(e.g., LEED, Envision, BREEAM, Mostadam or similar); relevant accreditation or certification is preferred.
- Proven ability tolead environmental and sustainability programs, conduct audits, and influence contractor performance.
- Strongcommunication, coordination, and report-writing skills, with the ability to interface confidently with clients, regulators, and contractors.
- Familiarity withHSE management systemsand the integration of environmental and sustainability requirements within overall project HSE frameworks.
- Experience inKSA or the GCC regionis preferred.
