Job summary

Parsons is seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager for aviation and transportation infrastructure projects. The role leads a team overseeing schedule, cost, earned value, risk and change management to ensure on-schedule delivery within budget.

You will interface with clients, provide senior guidance, and implement best practices across project controls. A strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving mindset is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning or related technical field.
• 15+ years of experience on airport projects preferred.
• Experience leading a project controls team across schedule, cost and earned value.
• Familiarity with multiple delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR, Design/Build).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and leadership for difficult project control problems.
• Interface with clients; attend meetings and produce strategy recommendations.
• Lead development and implementation of controls procedures for schedule, cost, risks and change management.
• Manage a team of project control staff analyzing costs and forecasting against milestones.

• Coordinate staffing, assign work, train personnel, and conduct performance reviews.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Project Controls Manager to join our Aviation team! In this role you will develop, manage, and execute all phases of the project controls effort and provide leadership for every phase of significant aviation and transportation infrastructure projects or programs to assure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with all client requirements. The candidate will manage a team of professionals across all aspects of project controls functions, utilizing widely diversified knowledge and drawing upon extensive experience and exposure to various types of projects and clients.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult and complex project control problems.
• Interfaces with clients, attends regular meetings, and provides strategy-type recommendations on critical matters to support decision making.
• Guides the development and implementation of project controls procedures to support the implementation of best practices for schedule, cost, earned value, risk and change management processes.
• Manages a team of Project Control staff who are qualified to analyze, evaluate, and forecast project costs, as well as performance against an established schedule with critical milestones.
• Recommends and oversees the implementation and customization of project control systems to meet specific project requirements.
• Coordinates staffing requirements, assigns and supervises project work activities, and trains personnel.
• Completes performance reviews and provides personnel development for the assigned employees.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning or other related technical field required
• 15+ years of experience preferably on airport projects
• Experience with managing a team of project controls staff
• Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/Build
• Proven ability to perform in a management capacity
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
• Must have a self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focus; and willing and capable to assume additional responsibilities
• Must be able to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgrounds
• Must be detail oriented and highly organized
• Master's degree preferred
• Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, etc.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Familiarity with Project Management Information Systems
• Ability to work in CAD or REVIT a plus
