Job summary

Client of Hire Fellows is seeking a skilled Procurement Officer to support a fast-growing production team across markets. You will manage end-to-end procurement for ingredients, packaging and consumables, negotiating terms and monitoring supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and quality.

You will collaborate with kitchen, inventory and quality teams to align on stock levels, budgets and standards, while building a reliable dual-supplier base for critical items and driving cost

Qualifications

  • 5-6 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supplier management.
  • Experience in food production, bakery, FMCG, hospitality, or a similar environment is preferred.
  • Strong experience in sourcing and negotiating with suppliers.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and resolve performance issues.
  • Comfortable budgeting, tracking spend, and reporting variances.
  • Understanding of ingredients, packaging, and consumables used in food production is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of supplier quality, food-safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience developing backup or alternative supplier options for critical products.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers, orders, negotiations, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Proactive and commercially minded with the ability to identify opportunities and solve supply challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate and onboard suppliers for ingredients, packaging and production consumables.
  • Source products and suppliers within quality, pricing and budget requirements.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules and service levels with suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance across quality, delivery, pricing and service levels.
  • Manage and resolve supplier issues related to quality, delays or availability.
  • Track procurement spend against the facility’s annual budget and flag variances early.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality or food-safety standards.
  • Coordinate with Inventory and Receiving teams to understand stock levels.
  • Communicate changes to ingredients, packaging or suppliers to the kitchen and production teams.
  • Maintain a backup supplier base for critical ingredients and packaging.
  • Develop procurement plans to reduce supply-chain risks and prevent production disruptions.
  • Lead supplier contract negotiations, renewals and pricing reviews as volumes grow.
  • Work with Quality team on supplier audits and compliance.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled and commercially driven Procurement Officer to join the production team of a fast-growing company operating across multiple markets. You will play a key role in ensuring the production facility has a reliable supply of ingredients, packaging and consumables while maintaining cost efficiency and high supplier standards. In this role you will manage the end-to-end procurement process within an agreed budget from sourcing and onboarding suppliers to negotiating commercial terms and monitoring supplier performance. You will work closely with the kitchen, inventory, receiving and quality teams to ensure the right materials are available at the right time without compromising quality or food-safety standards.

  • Lead supplier contract negotiations, renewals and pricing reviews as the facility and order volumes grow
  • Work closely with the Quality team on supplier audits, quality agreements and supplier compliance
  • Ensure suppliers meet the required food-safety, quality and operational standards
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier information, contracts and pricing documentation
  • Prepare and report on procurement spend, savings, supplier performance and budget utilization to management
Key Qualifications
  • Saudi national.
  • 5-6 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supplier management.
  • Experience in food production, bakery, FMCG, hospitality, or a similar environment is preferred.
  • Strong experience in sourcing and negotiating with suppliers.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and resolve performance issues.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills with a focus on cost optimization.
  • Comfortable managing procurement budgets, tracking spend, and reporting on variances and savings.
  • Understanding of ingredients, packaging, and consumables used in food production is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of supplier quality, food-safety, and compliance requirements.
