Job summary

Trillium Flow Technologies in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, seeks a Planning Engineer to prepare, monitor, and update schedules for pump manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and service activities.

Reporting to the Project Manager and Planning Manager, you will collaborate with workshop, procurement, engineering, and quality teams to ensure on-time delivery, accurate progress reporting, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Saudi citizen.
• Minimum 3 years in project planning for pumps or rotating equipment.
• Experience with project dashboards.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Able to read technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain schedules for pump repair, manufacture, testing, and site service.
• Create work plans and progress reports using planning tools.
• Coordinate with project managers, workshop, procurement, and engineering teams.
• Monitor progress and flag delays, risks, and corrective actions.
• Produce daily/weekly/monthly progress reports and look-ahead schedules.
• Track milestones: material availability, machining, assembly, testing, and delivery.
• Assist in resource planning for manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Maintain planning records and schedule updates for reporting.
• Participate in project reviews and provide planning input.
• Ensure planning complies with quality, safety and procedures.

Job Purpose

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for preparing, monitoring, and updating project schedules related to pump manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and service activities. The role ensures that project timelines, resources, materials, and progress are properly planned and tracked to support on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain project schedules for pump repair, manufacturing, testing, and site service activities.
• Develop work plans, timelines, and progress tracking reports using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar planning tools.
• Coordinate with project managers, workshop teams, procurement, engineering, quality, and service teams to ensure smooth execution of project activities.
• Monitor project progress against the approved schedule and highlight delays, risks, and required corrective actions.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, including look-ahead schedules and project status updates.
• Track key project milestones such as material availability, machining, assembly, inspection, testing, packing, and delivery.
• Support resource planning for manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontracted activities.
• Assist in identifying schedule impacts caused by changes in scope, material delays, customer requirements, or technical issues.
• Maintain accurate project records, planning documents, and schedule updates for internal and customer reporting.
• Participate in project review meetings and provide planning inputs to support decision-making.
• Ensure planning activities comply with company quality, safety, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Must be a Saudi citizen.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in project planning, preferably within pumps, rotating equipment, manufacturing, repair, or oil and gas service environments.
• Good understanding of pump components, repair processes, workshop activities, and project execution stages.
• Experience in preparing schedules, progress reports, and project dashboards.
• Knowledge of planning tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Excel.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong planning, scheduling, and coordination skills.
• Good knowledge of project lifecycle, work breakdown structure, and milestone tracking.
• Ability to read technical documents, drawings, and work scopes related to pumps and rotating equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Good command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in pump repair, overhaul, manufacturing, or aftermarket service projects.
• Exposure to API pumps, centrifugal pumps, mechanical seals, motors, and related rotating equipment.
• Experience working with oil and gas, petrochemical, power, or industrial customers.
• Knowledge of project controls, cost tracking, and delay analysis is an advantage.
