Al Faisal Plastic Factory in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Mold & Tooling Workshop Manager to lead the mold workshop and oversee the entire lifecycle of plastic molds—from concept and 3D design to manufacturing, assembly, trials, and production.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on mold engineering with strong leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration with production, engineering, R&D, quality, and procurement to ensure on-time, world-class mold

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of mold/tooling manufacturing experience.
• Proven experience leading a mold workshop or tool room.
• Strong hands-on experience with Injection, Blow Molding, PET, and IBM tooling.
• Ability to manage multiple mold projects to deadlines.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the mold & tooling workshop.
• Lead designers, toolmakers, CNC machinists, EDM operators, fitters, and technicians.
• Oversee complete mold development from concept to production.
• Review and approve 2D drawings, 3D models, mold designs, and specifications.
• Plan maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
• Troubleshoot mold issues and identify root causes.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Procurement.
• Manage mold trials and optimize cycle time, productivity, and quality.
• Control priorities, manpower, machine usage, spare parts, and timelines.
• Manage external mold/tooling suppliers when required.
• Establish and monitor workshop KPIs.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Mold & Tooling Workshop Manager to lead our mold workshop and manage the complete lifecycle of plastic molds — from design and engineering through manufacturing, assembly, trials, maintenance, modification, and optimization.

Location: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Preferred Candidates: India / Philippines

Experience: 5–7+ years in mold & tooling

Industry: Plastic Manufacturing

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the mold & tooling workshop.
• Lead and supervise mold designers, toolmakers, CNC machinists, EDM operators, fitters, and technicians.
• Manage the complete mold development process from concept → 3D design → manufacturing → assembly → mold trial → approval → production.
• Review and approve 2D drawings, 3D models, mold designs, and technical specifications.
• Plan and control mold manufacturing, preventive maintenance, repairs, modifications, and improvements.
• Troubleshoot complex mold and tooling issues and identify root causes of production problems.
• Coordinate closely with Production, Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Procurement teams.
• Manage mold trials and optimize molds to achieve required cycle time, productivity, dimensional accuracy, and product quality.
• Control workshop priorities, manpower, machine utilization, spare parts, tooling, and project timelines.
• Manage external mold/tooling suppliers when required.
• Establish and monitor workshop KPIs related to mold availability, downtime, maintenance, project completion, quality, and productivity.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of plastic molds and tooling, including:

Injection Molds

• PET preform molds
• PP / HDPE / other plastic injection molds
• Hot runner and cold runner systems
• Slides, lifters, inserts, ejector systems, cooling systems, etc.
• Mold troubleshooting and optimization

Blow Molding

• Extrusion Blow Molding molds
• Blow molding tooling and mold construction
• Mold troubleshooting and optimization

PET

• PET bottle blow molds
• PET preform molds
• Experience with PET mold trials and process optimization

IBM – Injection Blow Molding

• Strong knowledge of Injection Blow Molding (IBM) molds and tooling
• Experience with IBM mold design, manufacturing, assembly, trials, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Understanding of injection, blowing, cooling, neck finish, and mold mechanisms

CAD / ENGINEERING

• Strong experience in SolidWorks is required.
• Excellent ability to read, understand, modify, and prepare 2D engineering drawings and 3D mold designs.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of mold design principles, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing feasibility.

MOLD MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• 5–7+ years of experience in plastic mold/tooling manufacturing.
• Previous experience as Mold Workshop Manager, Tool Room Manager, Mold Design Manager, Senior Tooling Engineer, or similar.
• Strong hands-on experience with Injection, Blow Molding, PET, and IBM tooling.
• Proven experience managing a mold workshop or tool room and leading a technical team.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple mold projects simultaneously and deliver according to agreed timelines.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multicultural teams.
