Job summary

Saudi Gold Refinery seeks a Mine Shift Supervisor in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to oversee daily mining operations and ensure safe, efficient ore production for downstream refining.

Qualifications

Role Overview

Saudi Gold Refinery (SGR) is seeking a Mine Shift Supervisor in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to oversee daily extraction operations at our mining sites. This role ensures safe and efficient production of ore that feeds into our downstream refining and bullion manufacturing processes. The supervisor will lead shift crews in adherence to strict safety standards and operational protocols defined by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources.

The Mine Shift Supervisor will report directly to the Mine Manager and will play a key role in meeting production targets while maintaining zero harm principles. This position requires decisive leadership to manage complex underground or open-pit activities and coordinate seamlessly with processing and maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities

The Mine Shift Supervisor will execute the following core responsibilities to ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

Shift Operations Management

The role directs all mining activities during assigned shifts to ensure consistent ore extraction rates and quality standards.

Safety Protocol Enforcement

This position enforces strict adherence to permit-to-work systems and personal protective equipment requirements for all site personnel.

Production Target Achievement

The supervisor monitors real-time production data to ensure shift outputs align with daily and weekly mining plans.

Equipment Reliability Oversight

This role coordinates with maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime through proactive fault reporting and inspection.

Team Leadership and Development

The position mentors junior staff and Saudi national trainees to enhance technical skills and operational competency.

Regulatory Compliance Assurance

This job ensures all mining activities comply with Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources regulations and internal policies.

Incident Response and Investigation

The supervisor leads immediate response efforts for any safety incidents or operational disruptions occurring during the shift.

Resource Optimization

This role manages the efficient use of explosives, fuel, and other consumables to control operational costs.

Stakeholder Coordination

The position liaises with geology and processing teams to ensure ore quality meets refining specifications.

Reporting and Documentation

This job maintains accurate records of production volumes, personnel attendance, and safety observations for management review.

  • Familiarity with digital mine planning tools such as Deswik or Surpac is advantageous.
  • Certification in NEBOSH or equivalent occupational health and safety standards is desired.
  • Track record of contributing to Saudization goals through mentorship is highly valued.

  • Zero lost-time injuries and full compliance with safety permits during assigned shifts.
  • Achievement of 95% or higher of monthly tonnage and grade production targets.
  • Reduction in equipment downtime by 10% through effective maintenance coordination.
