Job summary

SGS is seeking a microbiology-focused laboratory professional in the Riyadh region to develop and maintain validation across environmental controls and perform routine testing on samples and ingredients. You will document results, monitor microorganisms, and ensure compliance with EHS standards in Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities include calibration of equipment, handling non-conformances, and collecting site samples.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in microbiology or related field.
• 3-5 years of microbiology lab experience.
• Knowledge of EHS standards in Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities and test results.
• Test incoming ingredients and document records.
• Monitor physiological and morphological characteristics and identify microorganisms.
• Prepare documents for all protocols.
• Calibrate and maintain routine laboratory equipment per PM plan.
• Store and dispose samples per procedures.
• Report non-conformances to line management.
• Ensure equipment calibration is scheduled; intervene on unsafe acts or conditions.
• Collect samples from sites.

Job Description

• Develop and maintain validation in all protocols for various environmental controls.
• Perform tests on component samples, identify any contamination and perform analysis for appropriate source for same and initiate corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records and perform tests on all activities conducted in laboratory.
• Perform tests on all incoming ingredients and documents all records.
• Monitor all physiological and morphological characteristics and identify microorganisms.
• Develop and prepare documents for all protocols.
• Routine equipment maintenance and calibration, according to P.M plan.
• Sample storage and disposal.
• Report instances of non-conformances to the appropriate line management.
• Responsible for ensuring the equipment has been calibrated a scheduled.
• Intervene when an unsafe act or condition is observed.
• Sample collection from the site

Qualifications

• Diploma/ Degree in Microbiology, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in microbiological laboratory testing and analysis.
• Knowledge of EHS standards, occupational health, and environmental regulations in Saudi Arabia.
