- Set the markup and intake-margin targets for each buy, such as the 3.22 markup and 70% intake GM in your proposal.
2. Open-to-buy (OTB) and budget control

- Keep inventory at the planned level, especially before key seasons such as Ramadan, Eid, back to school, White Friday and the national holidays.
6. Markdowns and promotions
- Plan when and how deep markdowns should be, and protect margin while clearing aged stock.
- Review promotions afterwards, such as coupons and cashback, to measure their margin impact and avoid overlapping offers.
7. Performance reporting and analysis
- Produce weekly and monthly reports on sales, margin and stock against plan and last year, by store and category.
- Analyse KPIs such as like-for-like growth, average basket value, units per transaction, conversion, sell-through and GMROI.
