Job summary

Smiths Group is seeking a Service Technician to support the Customer Reliability Engineer on site and oversee refurbishment of mechanical seals in a professional seal repair environment. You will inspect equipment, identify reliability issues, and assist in failure investigations.

With 3+ years in a multinational engineering setting, you will read component drawings, apply API knowledge, and maintain SAP and MS Office proficiency while ensuring health, safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Diploma or University degree in Engineering or relevant vocational technical qualification.
• 3+ years of professional experience in a multinational environment.
• Ability to understand component and assembly drawings; knowledge of rotating equipment principles.

Responsibilities

• Do daily equipment inspections.
• Identify issues that affect reliability, safety and environment.
• Support CRE in failure reporting and Root Cause Analysis investigations.
• Identify and recommend training needs for maintenance and operations to the reliability engineer.
• Dismantling and cleaning of mechanical seals and parts under repair.
• Inspect mechanical seals and cartridges.
• Prepare breakdown of parts required for repair per seal repair SOP.
• Assemble and repair mechanical seals and cartridges per John Crane drawings/specifications.
• Test mechanical seals per John Crane procedures.
• Manage local inventory of seal spares for contractual repairs.
• Ensure quality and safety in all tasks; uphold health and safety for self and others.
• Ensure compliance with applicable QHSE instructions and regulations.
