Job description

To head the Marketing Department of SADAFCO with the objective to market SADAFCO’s consumer brands and develop/create brand equity. Fulfil the existing and further develop the Marketing Strategy by creating a plan, get the relevant approvals and manage the Marketing Budget while implementing the agreed Marketing Plans. Lead the various Consumer-Need Segments and Product Categories with the aim to optimize profitable growth in the short and long term.

Key Accountabilities
1.Brand equity creation/ Value creation
  • Tangibly increase the value proposition of the brand. Engage & assess consumer tracker KPI’s to evaluate if brand value is being created continually.
2.Manpower planning and Leadership:
  • Continue to assess the current manpower and get the most optimal organization structure approved from CEO. Work with OD to fulfil the vacant positions.
  • Develop and ensure implementation of the consumer need segment planning for sustainable profitable growth of the segment.
  • Lead the process to identify and understand consumer needs for various need segment through syndicated, continuing, and/or ad-hoc research to develop strong value added concepts for the portfolio.
5.Advertising and promotions:
  • Ensure the development of effective advertising and promotional programs based on consumer insights & competitor activities and evaluate effectiveness of the investments. Budget, monitor and evaluate the A&P spend in line with objectives.
  • Take rectification steps as and when necessary.
6.Product innovation/ NPD:
  • Lead the process of innovation planning to generate and evaluate ideas for renovation and innovation based on consumer insights, market opportunities, competitor analysis and technological opportunities in line with company, market and category strategies, in order to improve existing products and to launch new ones.
  • Assign project leaders and teams, and drive the individual teams to achieve set benchmarks.
7.Forecasting:
  • Lead various categories so that effective & timely coordination with Supply Chain and Sales is achieved for an accurate and reliable rolling category sales forecast.
  • Lead the process to set and review consumer pricing and apply effective pricing strategies in cooperation with Sales and Trade Marketing so as to ensure optimal profits.
9.Tail Management:
  • Lead the process to identify “decliners” and “non-contributor” products and take effective steps (in liaison with Senior Team) to rectify the situation.
Job Requirements
  • Educational level: Minimum Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing or related field. A Master’s degree will be desirable.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant FMCG marketing experience out of which a minimum of 6 years of working experience in a multinational company/ies will be preferable
  • Languages: Fluent in English. Knowledge of Arabic will be an advantage
  • Experienced in analyzing data, drawing conclusions and reporting the findings like market segment developments and trends
  • Able to identify, define and interpret consumer’s behavior and attitudes
  • Able to develop and define an innovative brand communication plan and to select the appropriate media to achieve brand communication objectives
  • Able to define the objectives (i.e. volume, net sales, category and brand profitability) for a Brand Activity Plan and to translate market/sales plans and activities into sales forecasts in co-operation with Sales & Trade Marketing.
