Job summary

Siemens Energy in Dammam is seeking an experienced engineer to design and optimize generator rotor repair, overhaul and rewind operations. You will work with engineering and production teams to ensure efficient, high‑quality execution and strict adherence to standards.

The role requires deep rotor expertise, ability to read engineering drawings, diagnose faults, and apply problem‑solving skills while prioritizing safety and environmental guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Extensive experience with generator rotor repair, overhaul and rewind operations.
  • Strong hands‑on expertise with large industrial generators and rotor systems.
  • Knowledge of insulation, balancing, testing (IR/PI/surge/ hipot).
  • Familiarity with OEM standards (GE, Siemens, ABB, etc.) and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement rotor repair and rewind processes with work instructions and tooling.
  • Provide technical expertise for dismantling, inspection, fault diagnosis and balancing.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, safety, quality and environmental guidelines.
  • Collaborate with workshop and production teams to improve workflow and schedules.
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts in the repair center.

Your day involves planning, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for generator rotor repairs, overhauls, and full rewind activities to ensure efficient and high-quality execution. You collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve turnaround times, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Develop and implement generator rotor repair and rewind processes, including work instructions, routing sheets, technical documentation, and tooling requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise for rotor dismantling, inspection, fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, insulation repairs, full rewinds, winding installation, connections, testing, and rotor balancing.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM standards, quality requirements, ISO regulations, safety procedures, and environmental guidelines while supporting inspections, testing, and CAPA activities.
  • Collaborate with workshop and production teams to resolve technical issues, monitor job progress, maintain schedules, and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by standardizing best practices, enhancing productivity, reducing costs, and promoting a strong health, safety, and environmental culture
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with extensive experience in generator rotor repair, overhaul, and rewind operations.
  • Strong hands‑on expertise with large industrial generators, including rotor winding, insulation systems, balancing, and repair/service center activities.
  • Sound technical knowledge of generator rotor design, construction, insulation systems (Class F/H, mica systems, VPI), and electrical testing methods such as IR, PI, surge, and hipot testing.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, troubleshoot technical issues, and apply analytical problem‑solving skills to deliver effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with OEM standards (GE, Siemens, ABB, Brush, Alstom, MHI), coupled with a strong focus on quality, safety, cost efficiency, on‑time delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives.
