Job summary

Siemens Energy in Saudi Arabia seeks a skilled generator rotor repair technician to wind, rewind, disassemble and reassemble rotors, while ensuring compliance with OEM drawings and safety standards. You will perform insulation replacement and detailed documentation for traceability across utility, industrial, and power generation customers.

The role requires hands-on experience in rotor winding, ability to read technical drawings, and adherence to strict safety and quality protocols in workshop

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or trade certification in Electrical Technology or related discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience in generator rotor winding/rewinding.
  • Ability to read OEM drawings, winding diagrams and manuals.
  • Experience with electrical repairs, testing, and traceability of materials and processes.
  • Knowledge of safety and lockout/tagout procedures in workshops.

Responsibilities

  • Perform rotor winding, rewinding, coil installation, lacing, slot wedging, and insulation replacement per OEM specs.
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, refurbish, and reassemble rotors during overhauls and maintenance projects.
  • Conduct electrical testing (IR, resistance, polarization index, continuity, Hi-Pot) where authorized.
  • Inspect winding defects, insulation damage, loose coils, and mechanical issues ensuring quality and traceability.
  • Adhere to EHS policies and maintain thorough repair/test documentation.

A Snapshot of your day

Your day involves disassembling, inspecting, winding, rewinding, repairing, and refurbishing generator rotors in accordance with OEM specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. You will perform precision repair activities, maintain detailed documentation and traceability records, and ensure generator rotors are restored to reliable operating condition for utility, industrial, and power generation customers.



How You’ll Make An Impact


  • Perform generator rotor winding, rewinding, coil installation, lacing, slot wedging, and insulation replacement in accordance with OEM drawings and specifications.

  • Execute rotor disassembly, inspection, repair, refurbishment, and reassembly activities during major overhauls and maintenance projects.

  • Conduct and support electrical testing, including resistance, insulation resistance (IR), polarization index (PI), continuity, and Hi-Pot testing where authorized.

  • Inspect and identify winding defects, insulation damage, loose coils, and mechanical issues, ensuring compliance with quality standards and traceability requirements.

  • Adhere to EHS and lockout/tagout procedures, maintain accurate repair and test documentation, and ensure safe, organized workshop practices.



What You Bring


  • Technical diploma or trade certification in Electrical Technology, E&M Winding, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Strong hands‑on experience in generator rotor winding and rewinding, with knowledge of winding techniques, insulation systems, and rotating electrical machinery.

  • Ability to read and interpret OEM drawings, winding diagrams, technical manuals, and standards from manufacturers such as Siemens, GE, ABB, and Mitsubishi.

  • Experience conducting electrical repairs, insulation application, testing, quality control, and maintaining full traceability of materials, measurements, and processes.

  • Strong safety awareness, attention to detail, and experience working in generator repair workshops, power plants, or overhaul/shutdown environments; knowledge of VPI and epoxy insulation systems is an advantage.
