Job summary

Siemens Energy seeks a seasoned Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and troubleshoot gas turbine control systems at customer sites. You will diagnose issues, support commissioning, and ensure reliable turbine operation with non-Siemens OEM equipment familiarity. The role requires strong leadership and travel readiness.

With 10+ years in power generation, you will contribute to upgrades, spare parts planning, and safety-compliant maintenance while collaborating across global teams.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering background with 10+ years in power generation and field service.
  • Extensive experience with gas turbines (various models) and associated equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of plant operations, mechanical commissioning, preventive and corrective maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Specialist in gas turbine control and ancillary systems supporting installation, maintenance, and commissioning.
  • Work on hydraulic and pneumatic control components, valves, and related systems.
  • Perform testing, disassembly, reassembly, calibration, repairs, and cold commissioning of control, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Support turbine upgrades, modifications, recommissioning, and project execution including spare parts planning.
  • Prepare technical reports and assist commissioning activities to ensure safe operation.

A Snapshot of your day

Your day involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing gas turbine control and regulation systems, including valves, control components, and ancillary equipment, ensuring reliable and efficient turbine operation. You apply your expertise in GT controls, protective extra-low voltage systems, and relevant industry regulations to diagnose technical issues, support field service activities, and deliver safe, high-quality solutions at customer sites.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Serve as a specialist in gas turbine control, regulation, valves, and ancillary systems, supporting installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
  • Work on hydraulic and pneumatic control components, including control valves, emergency stop valves, lubricating oil systems, blow-off devices, actuators, pressure accumulators, and control oil supply stations.
  • Perform functional testing, disassembly, reassembly, calibration, repairs, and cold commissioning of control, protection, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Support turbine upgrades, technical modifications, recommissioning activities, and project execution, including spare parts planning, tooling requirements, and construction management support.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation while assisting GT engineers with commissioning activities and maintaining safe, reliable operation of gas turbines and auxiliary equipment.
What You Bring
  • Mechanical Engineering background with 10+ years of experience in power generation, rotating equipment, and field service environments.
  • Extensive expertise in gas turbines (5000F, 8000H, 9000HL, 2000E), generators, pumps, motors, and both Siemens and non-Siemens OEM equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of power plant operations, mechanical commissioning (hot and cold), preventive and corrective maintenance, and mechanical auxiliary systems.
  • Proficient in outage planning and scheduling, SAP, MS Project, technical report writing, and maintenance activities including machining, fabrication, welding, and NDT.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and customer management skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams and support extensive international travel and outage assignments.
