Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead and coordinate large field service teams during outages and field execution, ensuring safety, quality, and performance across gas turbines, steam turbines, generators and auxiliaries.

You will oversee outage planning, scheduling, and execution, collaborate with project managers and customers, manage site resources and procurement, mentor multidisciplinary teams, and drive continuous improvement in reliability and maintenance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering plus 10+ years in power generation or heavy industry.
• Extensive experience with rotating equipment: gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, pumps, motors.
• Experience with Siemens gas turbine technologies (SGT5-4000F, SGT-8000H, V-Series) and non-OEM equipment.
• Strong knowledge of plant operations, mechanical commissioning, maintenance, machining, welding, NDT, and maintenance management systems such as SAP.

A Snapshot of your day

Your day involves leading and coordinating a large team of field service specialists, technicians, and supervisors during outage and field execution activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You oversee the assembly and disassembly of mechanical components, advanced I&C commissioning, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations across gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and associated auxiliary systems to maximize plant reliability and performance.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Lead and coordinate outage execution activities, ensuring work is planned, scheduled, and delivered safely, efficiently, and within project scope.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, customers, Operations Management, and Service Engineering teams to drive successful project outcomes and customer satisfaction.
• Manage site resources, parts requirements, risks, delays, and customer communications, including leading meetings and providing regular progress updates and outage reports.
• Apply advanced technical expertise and analytical problem-solving skills to resolve complex equipment, operational, and cross-functional challenges.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to multidisciplinary field teams while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 10+ years of experience in power generation or heavy industrial environments.
• Extensive expertise in rotating equipment, including gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, pumps, motors, and associated auxiliary systems.
• Proven experience with Siemens advanced gas turbine technologies (SGT5-4000F, SGT-8000H, V-Series) as well as non-OEM equipment across outage, maintenance, and commissioning activities.
• Strong knowledge of power plant operations, mechanical commissioning, preventive and corrective maintenance, machining, fabrication, welding, NDT, and maintenance management systems such as SAP.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing multidisciplinary field teams, outage planning and scheduling, customer engagement, technical reporting, and execution of large-scale international field assignments.
