As a result of expanding our organization, we are currently looking for a Logistics Officer to join our fast-growing and challenging organization.
Position: Logistics Officer
Location: Dammam
The Logistics Officer is responsible for overseeing the movement and management of containers throughout the supply chain. This role collaborates closely with terminal staff, sales teams, and internal departments to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will leverage analytical skills to optimize logistics processes and report on key performance indicators.
Container Management: Monitor and manage container movements, ensuring accuracy of tracking, documentation and adherence to schedules.
Daily Reporting: Generate daily reports on container status, movements, and availability to ensure all stakeholders are informed. Maintain accurate records of empty and full container inventory, including discrepancies, maintenance, and repairs.
Forecast and Analysis: Collaborate with sales and planning teams to forecast container needs and monitor equipment utilization against forecasts and actuals. Analyze trends in container flows and provide insights for capacity planning.
Operational Coordination: Act as a liaison between internal teams and external partners, ensuring that communication is clear and effective. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to container management and logistics operations.
Cost Management: Track logistics costs associated with container movements and operations, identifying areas for cost reduction. Prepare monthly reports detailing logistics expenses and variances from budget.
Problem Resolution: Quickly address issues related to long idle, damaged or lost containers, coordinating with the appropriate departments to ensure timely resolution. Investigate and analyze operational issues to develop preventative measures and improve efficiency.
Customer Interaction: Respond to inquiries from customers and partners regarding container status, logistics processes, and operational updates. Provide excellent customer service and foster positive relationships with clients and vendors.
Ability to visit and conduct business at various terminal and operational locations as needed.
