Job summary

EssilorLuxottica is seeking a Logistics Manager to lead end-to-end logistics operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and international markets. You will plan, direct, and optimize transportation, warehousing, import/export, and distribution activities within budget while ensuring compliance with group policies and Saudi regulations.

You will manage fleet operations, coordinate with procurement and production teams, and drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service levels.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Saudi logistics and transportation regulations
• Fluency in English and Arabic
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP) is a plus
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analytics capabilities
• Strong leadership and people-management skills

Your role

The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, import/export operations, customs clearance, and distribution within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and international markets. The role ensures compliance with group policies & Saudi regulations, operational efficiency, cost optimization, and products are delivered to customers safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Main responsibilities

Logistics Operations Management

• Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Manage inbound and outbound transportation activities across KSA and GCC markets.
• Oversee warehouse and distribution center operations.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers.
• Monitor distribution center activities and coordinate with procurement, CIC, production, and business teams.
• Optimize transportation routes and warehouse utilization.
• Coordinate CAPA implementation resulting from audits, inspections, deviations, or customer complaints.
• Ensure all logistics activities are conducted according to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Fleet Management

• Manage company-owned fleet, including vehicle/Bike utilization, maintenance planning, registration, insurance, and licensing.
• Ensure compliance with driver qualification, training, and road safety requirements.
• Monitor fuel consumption, fleet productivity, and transportation costs.
• Ensure compliance with TGA requirements related to fleet operations and driver management.

Budget & Cost Management

• Develop and manage logistics operating budgets.
• Monitor transportation, warehousing, customs, and distribution costs.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service levels.
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.

Customs and Trade Compliance

• Ensure compliance group policies & Saudi customs regulations and import/export requirements in alignment with EMEA Trade Compliance Team.
• Coordinate customs clearance activities with brokers, freight forwarders, and government authorities.
• Maintain accurate shipping and trade documentation.
• Monitor changes in customs duties, trade agreements, and regulatory requirements

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with: Saudi Labor Law requirements, Saudi Customs regulations, Regulations issued by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), Transportation regulations issued by the Transport General Authority (TGA), Environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Industry-specific requirements

• Ensure full compliance with requirements issued by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) regarding storage, transportation, distribution, importation, and traceability of pharmaceutical and healthcare products.
• Maintain compliance with Good Storage and Distribution Practices (GSDP/GDP) across all warehousing and transportation activities.
• Ensure all warehouses, transport providers, and distribution partners maintain the required licenses and approvals.
• Ensure all product movements are recorded in SFDA-approved traceability and electronic tracking systems where applicable.

Vendor and Carrier Management

In collaboration with the procurement & sourcing department:

• Select, evaluate, and manage transportation providers and logistics service partners.
• Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Lead and develop logistics, warehouse, DC and transportation teams.
• Establish performance objectives and conduct regular evaluations.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Performance Management

• Monitor logistics KPIs and identify improvement opportunities.
• Prepare management reports and operational dashboards.
• Drive cost-reduction and process-improvement initiatives.

Main requirements:

• Strong knowledge of Saudi logistics and transportation regulations.
• Understanding of customs clearance procedures and international trade compliance.
• Fluency in English and Arabic is a must
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP) is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analytics capabilities.
• Strong leadership and experience in people-management is required to succeed in the role
• Budget management and cost-control expertise.
• Contract negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Strong knowledge of SFDA regulations
• Experience managing SFDA audits and regulatory inspections.
• Project management and organizational abilities.
