Job summary

Asharq in Riyadh is seeking a studio lighting specialist to design, set up, and operate lighting schemes for live news bulletins, talk shows, and special broadcasts, ensuring visual quality on air.

You will balance lighting in real time, program lighting consoles, troubleshoot equipment, and coordinate with directors and engineers to keep productions running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing and operating studio lighting for live broadcasts.
• Ability to adjust lighting in real time during live programs.
• Familiarity with lighting control consoles and systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, set up, and operate studio lighting schemes for live news bulletins, talk shows, and special broadcasts.
• Collaborate with directors, camera operators, and set designers to create lighting setups that enhance visual storytelling.
• Adjust and balance lighting levels in real time during live broadcasts to accommodate presenter movements and camera angles.
• Program and operate lighting control consoles and systems to manage lighting cues during live/recorded productions.
• Maintain and troubleshoot studio lighting equipment including LEDs, spotlights, and rigs to ensure operational readiness.
• Coordinate with technical and engineering teams for installation, maintenance, and upgrades of lighting systems.

Job description

• Design, set up, and operate studio lighting schemes for live news bulletins, talk shows, and special broadcasts, ensuring optimal visual quality and consistency on-air.
• Collaborate closely with directors, camera operators, and set designers to create lighting setups that enhance the visual storytelling of news programs.
• Adjust and balance lighting levels in real time during live broadcasts to accommodate presenter movements, camera angles, and changing studio conditions.
• Program and operate lighting control consoles and systems to manage lighting cues efficiently during live and recorded productions.
• Maintain and troubleshoot studio lighting equipment including LED panels, spotlights, soft lights, and lighting rigs, ensuring operational readiness at all times.
• Support the setup and lighting design for special interviews, breaking news segments, and remote studio productions when required.
• Ensure compliance with broadcast technical standards to deliver consistent lighting quality across multiple cameras and studio environments.
• Coordinate with the technical and engineering teams for installation, maintenance, and upgrades of lighting systems within the studio.
