Role Context The Lighting and AV Engineer will turn project, venue, and client requirements into coordinated technical systems that combine visual presentation, audio performance, lighting control, networking, and power distribution. The role requires both engineering discipline and practical operational knowledge, ensuring systems are not only correctly designed but also reliable during live use. Successful delivery depends on careful coordination between equipment, control systems, signal paths, electrical infrastructure, and venue conditions. Technical drawings, equipment schedules, testing procedures, and commissioning records will therefore form an important part of the engineer 's responsibilities. The position also provides direct support during installation, setup, and operation. By resolving faults quickly, maintaining equipment proactively, and coordinating with production teams and vendors, the engineer will help protect event continuity, system quality, and overall user experience.
Candidates should have 10 years of professional experience in lighting design, AV engineering, event technology, venue systems, broadcast environments, or a closely related technical discipline. Strong practical knowledge of professional lighting equipment is required, including LED fixtures, moving lights, conventional lighting, lighting consoles, and control technologies. Candidates should also have substantial experience with audio-visual systems such as projectors, screens, amplifiers, mixing consoles, signal processors, and related control equipment. A solid understanding of DMX, networking protocols, audio and video signal flow, electrical systems, and power distribution is essential. The successful candidate should be able to diagnose technical faults systematically and restore operational performance under demanding conditions. Proficiency with CAD software and AV system design tools is expected. Candidates should be comfortable producing technical layouts, equipment documentation, signal flow information, and system records. Experience with event production, corporate venues, or broadcast environments is preferred. Familiarity with video production workflows and content management systems will provide additional value. The role requires strong organization and project coordination skills together with the ability to manage changing technical priorities. Candidates should be comfortable working directly with clients, production teams, contractors, and multiple equipment vendors.
