Job Summary
The person primarily responsible for pool user safety is responsible for continuously monitoring the water to prevent drownings and accidents, and enforcing safety regulations. This role includes rapid response to emergencies, administering first aid and CPR, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of pool facilities.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring swimmers and identifying potential hazards before they occur
- Rescuing drowning victims and providing rapid intervention in cases of injury
- Providing initial medical care and CPR when necessary
- Guiding swimmers and enforcing safety regulations to prevent dangerous behaviors
- Ensuring the safety of rescue equipment and the cleanliness of the pool
Skills
- Excellent physical fitness: Ability to swim fast and cover long distances and dive
- Certifications: Certified lifeguard license + First Aid and CPR certification
- Quick thinking and focus: Keen observation skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure
- Effective communication: Strong public speaking and guidance skills
