Job summary

BlueHorizon is seeking a part-time Librarian in Riyadh to manage our library collection and assist patrons with research and reference services. The role involves promoting resources and collaborating on library policies, with supervision of student workers as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a Library Science degree (Masters preferred), strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with library management systems. This position is on-site in Riyadh.

Job description

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team in Riyadh on a part-time contract basis As a librarian you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library collection providing research assistance to patrons and promoting library resources and services

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain library materials according to established systems
• Assist with the acquisition of new materials and cataloging items in the librarys collection
• Provide reference services and research assistance to patrons
• Promote library resources and services through outreach activities and programs
• Collaborate with other librarians to develop and implement library policies and procedures
• Train and supervise student workers or volunteers in daily tasks such as shelving and circulation
• Keep up-to-date with current trends in information technology education and library science

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Library Science or related field Masters preferred
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Knowledge of current cataloging standards and classification systems
• Proficient computer skills including experience with library management systems
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with others in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a library setting is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with Arabic language is an asset

Salary 900$ per month paid in local currency on a part-time contract basis

This position is open to both Kenyan nationals living in Riyadh or any students currently studying abroad who are looking for part-time work Accommodation is not provided for this position However we welcome candidates who have biometric passports that allow them to work legally in Saudi Arabia
