Overview

To act as a strategic partner to the business, through driving and managing ME Foods Legal department and ensuring issuance of accurate, reliable contracts for all company transactions to ensure that ME Foods is achieving its Annual Operating Plan within the correct legal framework and with minimum legal risk and exposure vis-a- vis its contractual partners and other third parties. Responsibilities also include Corporate governance and maintaining corporate documentation for ME Foods BU, providing business with legal advice as required and conduct legal risk analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting ME Foods Legal function in its aim to ensure issuance of accurate, reliable contracts for all company transactions.
  • Driving the Legal team in terms of drafting, reviewing and finalizing all types of contracts including managing business priorities and dealing with urgent contracts under pressure while ensuring compliance with company policies as well as applicable laws or regulations.
  • Providing legal advice to functions in ME Foods including corporate, civil, commercial and labor law queries.
  • Ensuring PEP trademark portfolio is maintained and protected by advising on new brand launches, advertising campaigns, sponsorships and collaborations in ME Foods markets. This requires liaising and working with our global snacks trademark team in the US as well as our local trademark agents and attorneys.
  • Initiating and executing all corporate secretarial work of BU in compliance with local regulations and ensure timely implementation. This includes managing, documenting and recording all management and board changes in company corporate documents in addition to all new distribution centers, branches, etc., to ensure the accuracy of the legal position of the organization.
  • Implementing relevant company policies and providing support to all other functions in relation to documentation required for the implementation of PepsiCo International policies and processes.
  • Support ME Foods Legal team in preparation of business activity reports as required by EMEA Region legal function on monthly basis.
  • Support ME Foods Legal team to manage external counsel including determining scope of advice, providing appropriate instructions, finalizing advice and managing external Counsel costs, invoicing and timing.
  • Manage BU litigation agenda.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of PepsiCo contract templates, contracts policy, legal risk and liability, and company position on various matters.
  • Assume full accountability for overseeing and managing all legal matters pertaining to the company’s branches in the UAE, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, and safeguarding the organization’s interests across all operations.
Qualifications

6 years in corporate law is required. Experience in corporate compliance regulations, experience in drafting reviewing and negotiating all kinds of contracts, experience in dealing with suppliers, customers and different stakeholders. Experience in negotiating contracts and managing assets and properties is also required.
