Job summary

Master Works is seeking a Legal Consultant to provide expert legal advice and support, ensuring compliance with Saudi laws and regulatory requirements. The role emphasizes data management, privacy, and collaboration with internal teams and external counsel.

The candidate should have 6+ years in Legal Affairs, a Law degree, fluent English, Arabic native, and prefer experience in the public sector. This is a client-site position based in Riyadh.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in Legal Affairs or Legal Consulting.
  • Proven experience in Legal Affairs within a public-sector entity.
  • Strong knowledge of laws and regulatory frameworks in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • Arabic: Native; English: Fluent.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and consultation on a wide range of legal matters.
  • Review, draft, and provide recommendations on contracts, agreements, legal documents, and correspondence.
  • Interpret applicable laws, regulations, policies, and regulatory requirements and provide legal guidance accordingly.
  • Monitor updates and changes to Saudi laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, memoranda, reports, and recommendations.
  • Identify potential legal and regulatory risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Support the development and review of legal policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Provide legal advice on data management, data governance, and data privacy matters.
  • Advise on data protection and privacy requirements in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in the Kingdom.
  • Provide legal guidance on matters related to data collection, processing, sharing, retention, and protection.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders to address legal matters and inquiries.
  • Coordinate with external legal advisors and counsel when required.
  • Support the organization in addressing legal disputes and other legal matters.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant Saudi laws, regulations, and data privacy requirements.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in Legal Affairs or Legal Consulting
  • Proven experience in Legal Affairs within a public-sector entity
  • Strong knowledge of laws, regulations, and legal frameworks applicable in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
  • Experience in data management and data privacy
  • Knowledge of data protection and privacy requirements
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification is preferred
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, consultation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to interpret legal and regulatory requirements and translate them into practical recommendations
  • Arabic: Native
  • English: Fluent
