Job summary

Novotel & ibis Balikpapan in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to supervise daily housekeeping operations and lead a diverse team to uphold the highest cleanliness and guest satisfaction standards.

You will inspect rooms and public areas, coordinate with Front Office for timely room availability, train staff, and ensure all safety and hygiene procedures are followed to support hotel brand standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Housekeeping Supervisor or senior Housekeeping role, preferably within a hotel environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to supervise and motivate a multicultural team.
• Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Housekeeping Attendants and related team members.
• Inspect guest rooms, corridors, public areas and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation meet hotel and brand standards.
• Ensure guest rooms are cleaned and prepared according to established procedures and within the required timeframes.
• Assign daily tasks and room allocations to housekeeping team members.
• Monitor room status and coordinate closely with Front Office to ensure timely room availability.
• Handle guest requests, complaints and housekeeping-related issues professionally and efficiently.
• Conduct regular inspections and follow up on maintenance issues, damages, and lost and found items.
• Ensure proper use, storage and control of cleaning chemicals, equipment and housekeeping supplies.
• Monitor linen and amenity stock levels and report shortages to the Housekeeping Manager.
• Train, coach and support team members to maintain high service and cleanliness standards.
• Ensure compliance with hotel safety, hygiene, health and security procedures.
• Support the Housekeeping Manager with daily reports, inventory and operational follow-up.
• Promote teamwork and maintain positive working relationships with all hotel departments.
