Position Summary

MGIS is an International School with IB certification where English is the language of instruction Parents in the MGIS community chose the school because of its excellent English language verbal models for their child in kindergarten During educational activities and interventions students are exposed to proper English pronunciation and sentence structure both within and outside the classroom from the teacher and the teaching assistant The Kindergarten Teacher Assistant supports the kindergarten teacher in creating a nurturing engaging and safe learning environment for young children This role involves assisting in lesson delivery classroom management and fostering students social emotional and academic development The KG Teacher Assistant also helps with the preparation of materials supervision of activities and effective communication with students teachers and parents

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Support

• Assist the KG Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities that align with the school s curriculum and goals
• Provide individualized attention and support to students to help them understand and engage with learning materials
• Help set up and organize learning resources and materials for activities and lessons
• Supervise children during classroom activities playtime and transitions to ensure safety and engagement

Child Development and Care

• Support the social emotional and academic growth of children by encouraging positive interactions and good behavior
• Help children with daily routines such as hygiene snack time and dressing when needed
• Observe and document student progress and behavior sharing insights with the KG Teacher
• Provide comfort and reassurance to children to help them feel secure and confident in the classroom environment

Classroom Management

• Assist in maintaining a tidy organized and safe classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration
• Support the KG Teacher in managing student behavior by reinforcing classroom rules and promoting positive discipline strategies
• Help supervise students during outdoor activities field trips and other special events

Communication and Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with the KG Teacher and other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the classroom
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians when necessary relaying messages or updates from the KG Teacher
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about school policies and best practices in early childhood education

Administrative and Logistical Support

• Assist with administrative tasks such as taking attendance preparing student folders and organizing classroom materials
• Help coordinate and prepare for events such as parent-teacher meetings performances or special projects
• Support the KG Teacher in maintaining accurate records of student progress and classroom activities

Contribution to School Community

• Assist in organizing and participating in school events celebrations and activities that promote community engagement
• Foster a warm and inclusive classroom culture where all children feel valued and supported
• Promote the school s mission and values by modeling respect kindness and enthusiasm for learning
